Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has criticised Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent for claiming rival striker Darren Bent will be sold in the summer.

The Russian's representative Victor Kolar had said "Spurs may sell only one of their forwards and it's Bent."

The Spurs manager today insisted the agent has got his facts wrong, saying: "I don't know where he would get that type of information and it's false anyway. He has no right to say that."

Pavlyuchenko is likely to be ruled out of Sunday's visit of Newcastle by a back problem.

That will give Bent another chance to impress and could see Jermain Defoe return from injury, though midfielder Jermaine Jenas is a doubt with hamstring problems.

England striker Defoe played just four games following his January return from Portsmouth before breaking a bone in his foot.

Redknapp said: "Jermain has been pushed back into the frame a little quicker than we first thought but he should be fine. He's been fine in training this week."
