Harmison to stay focused

14 April 2012

Steve Harmison will take all the praise he receives for yesterday's Sabina Park heroics in his stride, according to his director of cricket at Durham.

Former England batsman Geoff Cook, who has seen Harmison develop at Durham, said: "To say he is down to earth is an understatement. It won't affect him at all. He loves the North-East and he is probably already looking forward to getting back.

"He loves playing for England and it is good for English cricket in general. They have the talent to create a winning team."

Harmison's seven-wicket haul also drew praise from England chairman of selectors David Graveney. He said: "It is up there in terms of bowling performance.

"To look at the roll of honour of wickets taken at Sabina Park and to see him at the top is fantastic."
