Garcia given Olympic lifeline

Olympic gold medal winner Russell Garcia has been recalled to the Great Britain hockey squad after a four-year absence.

Garcia, 33, who failed a random drugs test for cocaine in 1999 and was banned for three months, has capped a remarkable turn around in fortunes by earning a place

in the squad for the Athens International tournament next week.

Garcia, player-coach of German club Gross Flottbeker, and Britain's mostcapped player, was brought back into the international set-up this month after coach Jason Lee threw him an Olympic lifeline.
