Games in race against time

The International Olympic Committee's chief inspector is confident that Greece will catch up with preparations for the 2004 Games but stressed that accommodation and transport are a concern.

"We've emphasised that time is short for the tasks," said Denis Oswald. "But we're confident everything will be ready on time."

More than 2,800 rooms have still to be found. The IOC has warned that Athens may lose the Games if work did not speed up.
