Froch fight with Ward rescheduled

Carl Froch's Super Six World Boxing Final bout with American Andre Ward is to take place in America in December.

The rescheduled bout will take place on December 17 in Atlantic City to unify the WBA and WBC super-middleweight titles held by Ward and Froch respectively. Atlantic City had been due to be the venue city for the fight on October 29 until Ward suffered a cut eye during sparring last week which required stitches.

Promoter Dan Goossen confirmed to The Ring website that the fight would go ahead on the rescheduled date. Ward told RingTV.com: "I told my promoter, the name of this fight should be 'No excuses'."

He added: "Because if Carl Froch beats me, there will be no excuses from my side. I won't blame the eye or anything. But when I beat Carl Froch, I expect the same from his side as well."
