Freezer Espana for Quins

Harlequins players will pack their thermals for Sunday's Parker Pen Challenge Cup clash with Dulciora El Salvador in Spain.

Instead of late Iberian sunshine, Quins have been warned to expect snow at Valladolid, which is halfway between Madrid and the Bay of Biscay.

Snow has already fallen in the industrial town and is predicted to return at the weekend for a match that sees the London side travel without World Cup heroes Jason Leonard and Will Greenwood, plus captain Andre Vos who is back in South Africa. Also missing are Pat Sanderson and wing Ugo Moyne, who are representing England at the Dubai Sevens.

Saracens and London Irish are also involved in Parker Pen action and will be hoping to follow the lead of Wasps last season, who won the trophy and qualified for the Heineken Cup.

Saracens face Rugby Roma on Saturday and the following day French side Montauban welcome London Irish to Stade Sapiac with Russian international lock and club captain Sergei Sergueev wary of their in-form visitors.

"London Irish are going really well at the moment, high in the Zurich Premiership, whereas we haven't had a great start to the season," he said.
