Angelo Ogbonna has backed Said Benrahma to make a big difference at West Ham after impressing on his first start for the Hammers.

Benrahma was handed his full debut at Leeds United on Friday night and, after taking time to settle early on, thrived in the hole behind striker Sebastien Haller.

The Algerian, who had two assists in four appearances off the bench before the win at Elland Road, was a creative threat throughout and looks more than comfortable at Premier League level following his loan move from Brentford.

"On Friday he showed his quality, he's very good on the ball and he can make a difference for us," said Ogbonna, who scored the late winner in Yorkshire to lift West Ham to fifth for a time.

"He is a lovely guy. We've got many guys, not just him but [Manuel] Lanzini as well, Pablo Fornals, but this is the right way from him to start in the Premier League."
