Aaron Cresswell says West Ham’s players remain fully focused and understand the job ahead as they face a difficult battle to avoid relegation.

There were positives to take from Wednesday night’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool, but the club remain above the bottom three only on goal difference and have won just three matches in the Premier League in the past four months.

Captain Mark Noble revealed this week that he had delivered some home truths to the squad following their embarrassing FA Cup defeat to West Brom last weekend and Cresswell admitted it had sharpened minds.

“There are certain words that get said in that dressing room all the time — you won’t hear them — but I can assure you now that everyone is fully focused and understands the job ahead that we’ve got,” said Cresswell.

“We have to stick together not just as players and the coaching staff, everyone involved at West Ham. We have to do our best now until the end of the season.

“Of course [players calling each other out] it is a positive. It’s not just the thing with Nobes, there is plenty more that gets said.

“We have to stay positive no matter what, there is no point in being negative and saying, ‘Oh, we have a tough game now’. We have to go into every game now and look to maximise points and push up the table.”

David Moyes is continuing his search for a right-back as he looks to bolster his squad for the relegation fight.

The Hammers are chasing two Danish option’s in Red Bull Salzburg’s Rasmus Kristensen and Genk’s Joakim Maehle.

With Sebastien Haller struggling for goals, Moyes is also keen to add a striker before Friday's deadline, but has conceded that it might be difficult with few options available.

“Like everybody else we are looking very hard,” said the manager. “We are in for a lot, but there are not that many out there.

"We have tried to get people to help him [Haller], but we need some magic from him, like the goal he scored against Bournemouth. I could do with a couple of them.”
