Werder Bremen to bid for Niko Kranjcar again

Out of favour: Kranjcar has made only 16 appearances for Spurs this season

Werder Bremen will make a second offer for Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar this summer.

The German club had a £6million bid for the Croatian rejected in January but will renew their interest at the end of the season.

Kranjcar has made only 16 appearances for Spurs this season and was not even named in the 18-man squad for the Champions League home leg against AC Milan.

It is unlikely Kranjcar would have left London in January as his wife, Simona, was seven months pregnant at the time, and gave birth to a daughter, Loree, last week.

Kranjcar played a key role for Spurs last season as they secured a top-four finish, but the rapid rise of Gareth Bale has limited his first-team opportunities.

Meanwhile, William Gallas faces a spell on the sidelines after pulling up with a hamstring problem in training yesterday. A tear would keep him out for a month.
