Wayne Hennessey signs up for five more years at Wolves

11 April 2012

Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has signed a new five-year contract at Molineux.

The Wales international, who still had two years left on his previous deal, is now contracted to Wolves until the summer of 2015.

The 23-year-old opened last season as first-choice but lost his place to veteran American Marcus Hahnemann.

His decision to commit his future to Wolves has delighted boss Mick McCarthy, who told the club's official website: "We are blessed to have three very good goalkeepers at the club who are currently fit and battling for the position and Wayne is somebody who I believe is a top class young keeper who will also get better.

"This is really good news for the club to have secured one of its best young players and one who will be keen to play a big part in the future."
