Newly named Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson ensured that his reign got off to the perfect start on Tuesday afternoon after producing a Man of the Match display in the Reds' first pre-season fixture against the Thai All Stars.
The Premier League side controlled the game for long periods, despite an awful pitch and monsoon like conditions, and ran out comfortable 4-0 winners.
Lazar Markovic, Mamadou Sakho, Adam Lallana and new boy Divock Origi scored the goals, but it was their skipper that stole the show.
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers named two entirely different sides in both halves, but Liverpool undoubtedly went up a gear once Henderson entered the fray after break alongside James Milner in the centre of the park.
The England international produced several delicate touches and came within inches of a delicate lob after catching the goalkeeper off balance, but the stand out moment of the game proved to be a crucial part of the build up that led to Lallana's left-footed strike.
Henderson received the ball inside the final third an clipped an inch-perfect' rabona' through ball over the top of the Thai side's defence, allowing Lallana to race through and finish with aplomb.
