Twitter reacts as Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez steals the show with hat trick against West Ham

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has stolen the headlines - again.

The Chile international has been in fine form in recent weeks and moved up another notch in supporters' estimations this afternoon.

Sanchez scored a superb hat-trick in the Gunners' comprehensive 5-1 victory over West Ham to give Arsene Wenger yet another reminder as to how important he is.

Mesut Ozil's effort put the visitors in front at the break but Sanchez grabbed the limelight for himself in the second half, putting Slaven Bilic's side to the sword.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was also on target while Andy Carroll poked home a consolation but Sanchez's crowning moment arrived in front of a half-empty London Stadium.

The majority of the Hammers had already turned on their heels when Sanchez beat the offside and chipped the ball over goalkeeper Darren Randolph.

But - unsurprisingly - plenty of Gunners supporters rushed to social media to wax lyrical about their star man.

Sanchez even stopped to pose for photographs alongside some West Ham ballboys. Ever the showman....
