David Ginola will feature for a Tottenham Legends team against Inter Milan in the second and final test event to be held at the club's new stadium this weekend.

Spurs announced on Thursday that the popular former French winger, who made 108 appearances in north London between 1997-2000 and won the League Cup in 1999, would join the likes of Jurgen Klinsmann, Robbie Keane, Rafael van der Vaart, Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Anderton in a squad managed by Gary Mabbutt and Clive Allen.

The fixture will represent the first time Ginola has played since he suffered a cardiac arrest while taking part in a charity match in the south of France in 2016. He subsequently underwent a quadruple heart bypass operation.

“I am so delighted to have the opportunity to return to Spurs and play in this special game in the club’s new stadium,” said Ginola.

“I have heard and seen so many good things about this amazing new home that Spurs have built and to be able to be there for this historic Legends match is really exciting.

"I can’t wait to go out onto the pitch for the first time in front of all the fans who supported me so brilliantly when I played for Tottenham and who have continued to support me in the years since I left.

"Of course, we all know what happened when I last played football but thankfully everything has been fine since then and I can’t wait to put my boots on again and play some minutes in this wonderful new venue.”

Along with Ginola, Tottenham confirmed that Steffen Freund and Sebastien Bassong would also play for a Legends team that is set to be captained by Keane.

Should all go to plan at the second test event, Tottenham will receive the safety certificate they require to officially open their plush new 62,062-seater ground for the Premier League fixture against London rivals Crystal Palace on April 3.

In last weekend's first test event, J'Neil Bennett scored the first competitive goal at the stadium as Tottenham's Under-18s defeated their Southampton counterparts 3-1 in front of Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino.
