Mauricio Pochettino remains keen to improve his defence and is still interested in Toby Alderweireld, the Atletico Madrid defender who spent last season on loan at Southampton.

Lamela, Chadli and Christian Eriksen are the only members of the seven still wanted by Tottenham. Chairman Daniel Levy is actively looking to sell Roberto Soldado, Vlad Chiriches, Etienne Capoue and Paulinho, who is wanted by Watford.
