Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has handed over the keys to White Hart Lane to the construction company tasked with delivering the club's new stadium.

Spurs bade an emotional farewell to their ground of 118 years on Sunday, beating Manchester United 2-1 before welcoming club legends onto the pitch to cap a fitting farewell at the old ground.

Tottenham will now play at Wembley for one season before they are scheduled to move into a new 61-000-seat stadium on the same site as White Hart Lane.

Mace, the construction company behind Tottenham's impressive stadium project, expect the demolition of their current ground to take three months.

After handing over the keys to Mace CEO Mark Reynolds, Levy said: “Today marks yet another historic milestone in our continued progress to deliver our world class new stadium."

“It is also a sombre occasion upon which the Club formally hands over its home of 118 years – one filled with so many special memories.”
