Mauricio Pochettino was full of praise for Hugo Lloris after Tottenham secured a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane.

South Korea international Heung-min Son’s first Premier League goal for the club proved enough to down Alan Pardew’s side, who were denied by some exceptional saves from the Tottenham No1.

The pick of the bunch, without doubt, saw the France international tip Bakary Sako’s effort onto the post when the striker looked destined to score.

Speaking after the match, Spurs boss Pochettino was in no doubt as how important his captain’s display proved at the Lane.

"We need to recognise [Lloris] is one of the very best in the world,” he told the BBC. “His performance was unbelievable, top class.”

The win was Tottenham’s third on the bounce in all competitions after a lacklustre start to the campaign, and Pochettino insisted that Spurs deserved all three points today.

"It was one of the best team performances this season. We fully deserved the result.

"I think we are in a good moment and we need to follow in the same way and try to ensure this in every game."
