Tottenham were left breathing a sigh of relief ahead of their crunch Champions League clash against Monaco this evening after CSKA Moscow came from behind to draw 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen in Russia.

The German side looked to be on course to securing a narrow Group E victory when Kevin Volland scored in the 16th minute after being left unmarked in the area following a free kick and then driving in Kevin Kampl's pass.

But CSKA rescued a point late on after Bibras Natcho equalised from the penalty spot in the 76th minute to aid Tottenham's hopes of progressing to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The result in Russia means that Tottenham can draw against Monaco tonight and still go through to the next round, although they will have to win their final match at Wembley and hope Leverkusen lose theirs.

However, should Mauricio Pochettino's side lose their Group E game against Monaco in France tonight, they will be eliminated from the Champions League.
