Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld remains confident of Spurs having a good season despite the club's failure to win a game so far this season.

The north London side opened the new campaign with a narrow loss away to Manchester United before drawing their last three games against Stoke, Leicester and Everton, which has since left Tottenham languishing in 16th place in the Premier League table.

But Alderweireld insists Spurs' performances are improving - which the club demonstated in their goalless draw with Roberto Martinez's side at White Hart Lane last week.

"In the last home game against Everton I think we played very well," he said.

"The only thing was that we couldn’t score, but our game is improving."

Alderweireld joined Tottenham this summer from Spanish side Atletico Madrid - where he helped the team win La Liga and reach the Champions League final in 2014 - after signing a five-year deal at the club.

And despite Spurs enduring a tricky start to the new season, the defender admitted he was enjoying his time at the club so far.

"I think I’ve had a good start, and I’m feeling comfortable and confident," he said.

"I’m very happy at Tottenham."
