Ten of the greatest FA Cup shocks involving London sides

Vaishali Bhardwaj3 December 2016

The FA Cup second round kicks off on Friday night as Oxford United travel to Macclesfield to begin a weekend of Cup action across the country.

With the Premier League sides entering the competition in the next round, Football League clubs have the chance to book their place against the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea by beating their opposition this weekend.

The FA Cup is famous for producing shock results - with Sutton United chief among them. The Conference side stunned Coventry by beating them in 1989, and the club are in action today as they host Cheltenham.

Meanwhile, Charlton will play MK Dons - who eliminated QPR three years ago - this weekend as Millwall host Braintree Town on Sunday afternoon.

AFC Wimbledon are also in action as they take on Curzon Ashton Sunday lunchtime.

There have been many more surprise FA Cup results over the years, which you can re-live in Standard Sport's video above.
