Slaven Bilic says his West Ham side have set the standard with their second-half performance against Tottenham at Wembley.

After a first half in which the Hammers looked nervous and bereft of any fight and desire and concede two goals, they came out after the break a team revitalised.

From the early minutes of the second half, the likes of Manuel Lanzini and Andre Ayew looked to take the game by the scruff of the neck and completed a remarkable comeback thanks to goals from the forward and Angelo Ogbonna's header.

After days of mounting pressure following their defeat to Brighton on Friday night, Bilic called on his players to use their performance as the standard going forward.

“I saw some good things from us in the first half,” Bilic told reporters. “When I say we did well in the first half it was considering we conceded two goals, and we didn’t stop playing.

“The goals effected our game against Brighton, big time – but in a negative way but they gave Brighton all that we had today, calmness, composure and suddenly you are better.

“We haven’t always played like we did in the second half but you take out the Brighton game and we have improved a lot in the last six games.

“So this should be the standard from us in terms of closing down, in terms of compactness and in terms of team play and sacrificing for the team.

“Some games you are going to lose some you are going to win but I am quite positive that we are on a good way, we’ve improved a lot and we should use this as a standard.”

Bilic will be hoping his players can take that performance to Selhurst Park on Saturday when they face fellow strugglers Crystal Palace, looking to turn their league form on its head and build on a memorable night at the national stadium.
