Real Madrid were unable to capitalise on Barcelona's shock defeat at Leganes as the Champions League holders slumped to a miserable 3-0 loss at Sevilla.

With Barca's 2-1 loss at Leganes giving Real the chance to go three points clear at the top of La Liga, Julen Lopetegui's side turned in a dismal first-half performance at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Andre Silva scored two goals in four minutes to put Sevilla comfortably ahead after just 21 minutes of the match, while Wissam Ben Yedder's 39th-minute effort put the hosts in dreamland heading into half-time.

Real tried to rally after the break as Luka Modric saw a goal disallowed following a VAR review, but Los Blancos were unable to mount anything close to resembling a comeback as Sevilla won the match by three goals to leave Real level on points with Barca at the top of the table.
