Clubs these days are jostling to find the most innovative way to announce a new signing on social media, and Roma have raised the bar with their FIFA introduction of Lorenzo Pellegrini.

The video sees an unnamed man playing as Roma on the game, and scoring a great effort into the top corner from just inside the box. When the player runs off to celebrate the camera zooms in to see the virtual Pellegrini pointing at the name on his back.

We then see that it was the former Sassuolo midfielder controlling the players, and he welcomes the goal with a scream of “Forza Roma!” and a clenched fist.

Pellegrini’s return to the Stadio Olimpico is sure to be popular with Roma fans seeing as he is a local guy who progressed through their academy.

He was allowed to leave for Sassuolo in 2015, but his performances for them last season have forced Roma to regain his services.
