Former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben has announced his retirement from football - for the second time - at the age of 37.

Robben was a key member of Jose Mourinho’s first Chelsea squad and won the Premier League twice between 2004 and 2007 before leaving to join Real Madrid.

In his career, the Netherlands international won 21 major honours including the Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2013, and played in the World Cup final of 2010.

He won 96 caps for his country and is joint fourth on the all-time goalscoring list with 37 strikes, level with Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp.

He retired from football in 2019 after leaving Bayern but came back last year to play a final season with his first club Groningen.

He only made six appearances for the Dutch club last season because of injuries and has now called it a day for a second time.
