Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba's training ground argument was due to the Manchester United midfielder's social media use, according to Andreas Pereira.

The pair were captured by TV cameras arguing, with Mourinho appearing to instigate an awkward exchange the day after a loss home loss to Derby County in the League Cup.

As speculated upon and now confirmed, Pereira says a video posted on Pogba's Instagram story involving the two players and Luke Shaw during the game angered Mourinho.

"It was in a cup game. Pogba posted the video before and there was me and left-back Luke Shaw laughing," Pereira told Brazilian publication UOL.

"We were winning the game 1-0 at the time of the video. Then we lost the game, and people said that Pogba posted later. But he posted before.

"The manager thought that Pogba had posted later. He asked him why that happened. There was a mood about it."
