Carlo Ancelotti believes Chelsea will go on the defensive to try and beat Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League last 16 clash tonight, but believes the French side will come into the game as favourites.

Chelsea take on Laurent Blanc's team in the first leg of their last 16 game at the Parc des Princes after managing to revive their season following their disappointing start to the campaign.

Interim manager Guus Hiddink has led the Premier League holders to an unbeaten streak of 12 matches since arriving at the club in December, but Chelsea will now face a tough test in PSG - who have only been beaten once this season, against Real Madrid.

Much of Hiddink's success has been built upon utilising two defensive midfielders in his team, and Ancelotti - who previously coached both Chelsea and PSG - thinks the Blues will try and defend in numbers and score a goal on the counter attack in the French capital.

PSG vs Chelsea preview

"Chelsea will play more defensively and try to use the counter-attack," the Italian told Goal. "PSG will be the opposite. They play at home and will want to have a good result to be more relaxed when they play at Stamford Bridge.

"Maybe PSG have a greater chance, but playing against Hiddink’s team is very difficult."

Hiddink will be without the services of Nemanja Matic, who is suspended, and John Terry who has stayed in London to recover from a hamstring injury.
