The Premier League are set to hold talks with Arsenal and Leicester amid fan anger at the sudden rescheduling of next month’s match between the top two clubs.

The fixture was originally expected to take place on Saturday 13 February at 3pm but it has now been moved to Sunday 14 February after Sky television opted to screen the match at relatively short notice.

A Premier League statement claimed “we always seek to give fans a minimum of six weeks’ notice of fixture changes” and after the decision was thrust upon Arsenal and Leicester without consultation, the organisation will now speak to both clubs to help appease angry supporters.

Leicester fan group Union FS are planning to boycott the opening five minutes of the game in protest against the decision.

A spokesman for the group said: 'All football fans are inconvenienced at times and it has sadly become part of our game,'

'But in our opinion the actions of Sky Sports on this occasion have gone too far for us not to take action.'
