Mauricio Pochettino has made his first additions to Chelsea after being announced as the club’s new manager.

The Argentine will officially take charge of the Blues on July 1 after signing a two-year deal with the option for a further 12 months in the Stamford Bridge dugout.

Chelsea confirmed his appointment on Monday with four members of his backroom staff also signed up.

Jesus Perez joins as assistant coach to continue his long-term association with Pochettino, who he first worked with at Espanyol over a decade ago.

Argentine coach Miguel d’Agostino is also heading to Chelsea having followed the manager across his previous jobs.

The ex-defender played with Pochettino at Newell’s Old Boys in the early 1990s before reuniting with him for scouting work at Espanyol, going on to become a regular in his coaching set-up.

Toni Jimenez, another longtime Pochettino ally and former team-mate at Espanyol, has signed on as goalkeeping coach.

The fourth and final staff member confirmed by Chelsea is Sebastiano Pochettino.

The son of manager Mauricio, 28-year-old Sebastiano first worked with his father at Tottenham in the sports science department and was a fitness coach during his spell at Paris Saint-Germain.
