Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal training ground to undergo medical ahead of £60m transfer

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has arrived at Arsenal's training ground to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed club-record move from Borussia Dortmund.

The Gunners have agreed a deal worth in the region of £55million plus £5million in add-ons for the striker, who flew into Luton from Dortmund this lunchtime.

Dortmund have given permission for Aubameyang to undergo his medical but it is understood that Dortmund are yet to formally sanction the transfer as they continue to pursue a replacement.

The Bundesliga side were keen on signing Olivier Giroud but the Arsenal forward would prefer a move to Chelsea. Dortmund have instead turned their attentions to other targets including Blues forward Michy Batshuayi.

Although it is still a remote possibility Dortmund could pull the plug, Arsenal are confident of completing a deal and this latest step is designed to ensure everything is in place to beat tomorrow's deadline once Dortmund finally give the go-ahead.
