Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been given permission to undergo a medical with Manchester United.
The France international is widely expected to complete a world record move to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho targets one more signing ahead of the new Premier League season.
And Pogba, who left Old Trafford for less than £1million in 2012 after becoming frustrated with a lack of first-team opportunities, looks poised to return to Manchester .
Juve officials confirmed that the 23-year-old has been given the green light to undergo fitness checks ahead of his proposed world-record switch before United released a statement ahead of their Community Shield clash with Leicester on Sunday afternoon.
It read: "Paul Pogba has been granted permission to have a medical in order to finalise his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United."
The Italian champions are currently in London, where they are playing West Ham in a friendly to mark the opening of the London Stadium.
Pogba, 23, is not with his team-mates as he is still on leave following his exertions at Euro 2016.
But the midfielder is due back in Italy for training on Monday, while Juve officials could not confirm exactly when the medical will take place.
