Liverpool can tonight move five points clear at the top of the Premier League with a win over Newcastle United and other results going their way.

With Everton’s game against Manchester City postponed due to a Covid outbreak and Leicester dropping points, only Manchester United can look to cut the reigning champions’ possible advantage.

For Newcastle, it’s been a tough festive period with defeats at Leeds and Manchester City either side of being held at home by Fulham.

Date, time and venue

Newcastle vs Liverpool is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

The match will be held behind closed doors at St James’ Park.

Prediction: Newcastle 0-2 Liverpool

Liverpool were not at the races against West Brom but Jurgen Klopp doesn’t allow that to help two games on the spin, especially against a Newcastle side who look like they are running out of ideas with Steve Bruce.
