Alexis Sanchez will wear the number seven shirt for Arsenal next season after Tomas Rosicky vacated the jersey.

The Gunners launched their new home kit earlier today and confirmed Sanchez's decision to change number as part of the official unveiling.

The 27-year-old has previously worn number 17 during his spell in north London but will switch to the iconic digit in the wake of Rosicky's departure.

Arsenal's number seven shirt has previously been worn by the likes of Robert Pires, David Platt and Kevin Campbell.

Sanchez wore number nine while at Barcelona but turns out in number seven for the Chile national team.
