Moussa Sissoko has not travelled with Tottenham on their pre-season tour of the United States due to illness.

The France midfielder has been unwell since the start of the week and the decision has been taken to leave him behind.

He is one of four first-team players who have not made the trip. Erik Lamela (hip), Danny Rose (knee) and Heung-min Son (arm) have also remained in London to continue their recoveries.

Sissoko joined Tottenham from Newcastle last summer in a deal that could eventually be worth £30million, but he is keen to leave this summer after a disappointing season, and Tottenham are willing to sell.

Marseille have not given up hope of bringing the 27-year-old back to Ligue 1 but would prefer a loan deal, while Spurs would rather sell Sissoko permanently.

Meanwhile, Ross Barkley is keen to join Tottenham after hearing glowing reports about manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs are still interested in signing the England midfielder, but are not willing to meet Everton's £50m asking price.
