Unprofessional: Holloway will fine his full-back
Standard Sport13 August 2014

Ian Holloway has confirmed he will fine Matthew Briggs after getting sent off on his debut during the club’s first-round victory over Wycombe last night.

The left-back received his first booking when he celebrated scoring the only goal of the match by taking his shirt off. He picked up a second from referee Andy D’Urso after the break following a reckless challenge on Sido Jombati. Millwall boss Holloway said: “I’m going to have to discipline Briggsy. You’ve just got to keep your shirt on, haven’t you? It was totally unprofessional.”

Briggs added: “It was silly and won’t happen again.”
