The surprise package in the Championship last season, Millwall just missed out on the play-offs and Neil Harris is determined to perform above expectations again.

Millwall have one of the smallest budgets in the division and other clubs have sprayed cash around in a bid to get promoted.

But if the Lions can avoid injuries to key players, then they can push for another top-half finish.

Millwall will make life uncomfortable for opposition sides with their unapologetically direct approach and their aggressive, high-intensity style.

The signings of defender Murray Wallace, keeper Ben Amos and winger Jiri Skalak have improved their squad and there is real belief they can prove people wrong once more.

Missing out on a permanent deal for Ben Marshall was a blow but Harris has has kept hold of Jake Cooper, Shaun Hutchinson and George Saville. He wants another striker to add goals to a team that at times lacked firepower last season.

Prediction: Top-half finish

In: Murray Wallace (£500,000, Scunthorpe), Ben Amos (loan, Bolton), Jiri Skalak (£600,000)

Out: Tim Cahill (released), Harry Smith (free, Macclesfield), Harry Toffolo (free, Lincoln), Nadjim Abdou (free, Martigues), Sid Nelson (loan, Swindon).
