Mauricio Pochettino's strongest Tottenham XI has no weak links, insists Jermaine Jenas

Mauricio Pochettino's strongest Tottenham XI has "no weak links", according to former Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas.

The north Londoners have enjoyed a rich vein of form in recent weeks, having secured six consecutive top-flight fixtures to climb to second place in the table.

Pochettino's decision to switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation has proven to be a success, with the system allowing all of Tottenham's players to operate in their best positions.

And Jenas is adamant there are no frailties within Tottenham's team when they are at full strength because all of Pochettino's charges suit his footballing philosophy.

"While Tottenham don't have the strongest squad in the Premier League, I can understand why some people think they have got the best team," Jenas told the BBC.

"When everyone is fit, they do not have a weak link in their strongest XI - everyone fits perfectly together into their style of play."

Spurs travel to Manchester City this afternoon aiming to open up a six-point lead over their rivals.

Pep Guardiola's side were thrashed by Everton last time out and while Jenas believes the form book points to a Spurs victory he has warned his former side to be prepared for a backlash.

"Tottenham are flying at the moment, scoring goals for fun and probably playing better than ever under Pochettino.

"They will have seen the way Manchester City have been defending recently and it will fill them with confidence ahead of their trip to Etihad Stadium.

"But the thing that keeps sticking in my mind is Guardiola's pride.

"It has taken a massive hit in the last few weeks. People like Pep are seriously dangerous when that happens, because they are born winners," Jenas added.
