Mauricio Pochettino has piled pressure on Chelsea by declaring them favourites for Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against his Tottenham team.
Tottenham have won their last seven games in the Premier League to close the gap on Chelsea – who lead the table – to four points.
Antonio Conte’s side lost their last match, 2-0 at Manchester United, meaning the momentum is with Tottenham as the teams prepare for Wembley.
Yet Pochettino claims the number of winner’s medals within the Chelsea squad gives them the edge. He said: "The favourites are more Chelsea.
"They are top of the table and they have experienced players and an experienced coach.
"In recent years they have players who have European competitions and the World Cup. Their coach won three league titles with Juventus, so they are more experienced.
"We are in a different process and it is impossible to compare the two clubs. If you look at our players, we have not won as much.
"Maybe we have some players who have won titles elsewhere but today we have the chance to challenge the big teams and try to win titles.
"But we are in a good moment. We are hungry and it is very important for us to challenge teams like Chelsea.
"I know it is a semi-final but it is like a final, because if you lose, you go home and forget about winning the competition. It is important to enjoy the game.
"When we arrived at Tottenham nearly three years ago, I was asked how we could reduce the gap to the top four in the Premier League.
"That was the main problem Tottenham had. After nearly three years we are now fighting for the Premier League and other major trophies."
