Mario Balotelli: I still owe Roberto Mancini for his faith

Mario Balotelli finally completed his move to AC Milan today but said he still loved Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.

The striker’s two-and-a-half year stay in England has been marred by controversy and last month coaches had to pull him and Mancini apart after the two Italians clashed on the training ground.

Despite that, Balotelli (below) says he still feels indebted to Mancini and revealed that he said his farewells to the squad and management ahead of Tuesday night’s game at Queens Park Rangers.

Balotelli said: “I said goodbye to everyone at the meal in London. It was very emotional for me. I spoke with Roberto before I went to speak to the players.

“We spoke for some time about lots of things. He was sad, and I was too. But it was a good conversation. I love Roberto, he has been very important for my career, and I will always thank him for having trust and faith in me.”

Milan and City agreed a fee of £19million although add-ons could see it increase by another £3m.
