Jose Mourinho appeared to take aim at his Premier League rivals after claiming that he does not need to act like "a clown" on the touchline to prove his passion for Manchester United.
Reports emerged on Thursday evening claiming there were fears inside Old Trafford that Mourinho could resign after two seasons.
However, the United manager has not only rubbished that suggestion but stressed he is keen on extending his deal beyond the three-year contract he initially penned back in 2016.
The Portuguese coach has in the past taken issue with the touchline demeanour of Chelsea's Antonio Conte and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp. Mourinho was angered by Conte's celebrations during Chelsea's 4-0 win against United in October 2016, claiming that the Italian humiliated him.
Mourinho - who claimed that the reports about his future were "garbage news" - told reporters: "Because I don't behave as a clown on the touchline, it means that I lost my passion."
The United manager had previously claimed that the likes of Conte and Klopp receive receive preferential treatment from the authorities while he gets unfairly punished for displays of emotion, citing a touchline ban for kicking a water bottle in December 2016.
Mourinho continued: "I prefer to behave the way I am doing it, much more mature, better for my team and myself, I don't think you have to behave like a crazy guy on the touchline to have that passion.
"That passion, you see it every day. The way a person is dedicated to his work, not what you do in front of the cameras."
