Manchester United cancel press conference ahead of Europa League Final after Manchester terror attack

Manchester United cancelled their press conference on Tuesday following the terror attack in Manchester on Monday night.

22 people were killed by a suicide bomb attack at an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena.

Jose Mourinho was due to speak to the press at 5:15pm UK time ahead of Wednesday night’s Europa League Final against Ajax in Stockholm.

The held a minute’s silence on the club’s training pitch at Carrington on Tuesday morning, and were scheduled to fly to Sweden that afternoon.

The club confirmed that their megastore, museum, Red Café and stadium tours would also be closed for the day.

A statement released by the club read: “Everyone at Manchester United is deeply shocked by last night’s terrible events at the Manchester Arena.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected, including our supporters, club staff and members of our community such as the children from our Manchester United Foundation partner schools who were attending the concert at the Arena.

“Club staff are ready to help the police and other emergency services in any way that may be required at this challenging time for our city.”
