Hugo Lloris returned to the Tottenham starting line-up on Mauricio Pochettino's first return to Southampton.
The France goalkeeper captained the side after missing the three previous matches with a knee complaint, with Ben Davies and Ryan Mason the other alterations at St Mary's.
James Ward-Prowse replaced Dusan Tadic for Southampton, who were able to call on Toby Alderweireld despite sustaining a shoulder injury last week. Pochettino left Southampton for White Hart Lane last summer.
