Leeds vs Chelsea: Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news and h2h results - preview today

Jonathan Gorrie11 May 2022

A big night of Premier League action gets underway later today with Leeds hosting Chelsea as the Blues look to regain their form ahead of the FA Cup final.

A poor run of results has raised some, albeit slight, concern that Thomas Tuchel’s side might contrive to drop out of the top four altogether this season, with both rivals Arsenal and Tottenham chasing hard.

Should their recent slump continue, Chelsea could face the prospect of entering the post-Roman Abramovich era in the Europa League, with Todd Boehly’s takeover now nearing its conclusion.

While it would take a lot for both north London sides to overtake them, Tuchel’s team currently sit 11th in the Premier League’s form table after picking up only eight points from the last six games.

Some solace, however, can be taken from the fact that Chelsea tend to play better away from home and travel to a Leeds side battling relegation.

They slipped into the bottom three at the weekend after a defeat by Arsenal was compounded by Everton’s latest win at Leicester, leaving them just three matches in which to avoid a costly return to the Championship.

Leeds vs Chelsea prediction

A win for Chelsea, usually so strong away from home, would put any lingering doubts about dropping out of the top four to bed. While Leeds are fighting for their lives, their lack of defensive options give Tuchel’s attackers a great chance of flourishing.

Chelsea to win, 2-0.
