If defeat to West Brom at the weekend wasn’t bad enough, Arsenal suffered the double blow of first losing Francis Coquelin, and then Mikel Arteta, to injuries.

Arsene Wenger confirmed today that Coquelin would miss at least two months after damaging his knee ligaments at the Hawthorns, while Arteta has suffered a calf injury.

"It is a least two months but I'm cautious as we had so many bad surprises on scans that I do not want to speculate more than that. Certainly for the next two months we play without Coquelin," said the Gunners boss.

And Wenger is ready to make a move in the January window to strengthen his options.
