Kieran Tierney believes there are ‘no better games in football’ as Arsenal earn stoppage-time win over Wolves

Kieran Tierney was understandably delighted as Arsenal earned a last-gasp win over Wolves to stay in a strong position for Champions League football.

The Gunners were trailing 1-0 with eight minutes remaining at the Emirates, but Nicolas Pepe equalised for his side before Alexandre Lacazette, with the help of Jose Sa, sent the home fans delirious with a 95th-minute winner.

It keeps Arsenal’s winning run going and the mood high among players and supporters, and Tierney was particularly thrilled with the manner of the three points.

“There are no better games in football,” Tierney told Amazon Prime.

“They are the kind of games you watch as a wee guy and to be a part of that is brilliant.”

It moves Arsenal to within a point of the top four, and they have two games over Manchester United above them.

Mikel Arteta has repeatedly insisted their is still a long way to go in the Champions League battle, but Tierney was more bullish when asked if the team believed they could finish in the top four.

“We need to. I don’t see why not,” Tierney said.

“We need to aim as high as possible. Results like this builds momentum and team mentality and that is what you want. It is a good night.”
