Get out of my way: John Bostock is frustrated by his lack of Spurs action

Spurs youngster John Bostock claims the club's foreign contingent is stopping him from coming through at White Hart Lane.

The midfielder, 18, joined Spurs from Crystal Palace two years ago but has yet to make his first-team debut for Harry Redknapp's side.

The teenager was playing first-team football for Palace when he was 15 but spent the majority of the last campaign out on loan at League One Brentford.

"You look at the foreign contingent over here and they're blocking us", Bostock said.

"It's so frustrating. You want to prove yourself but it's hard when you don't get a chance."

Bostock spoke out after returning from England U19's European Championship campaign and said some of the youth side were demanding to be released on loan.

He said: "Some of us have been given first team chances. For instance Everton's Jack Rodwell has been given a few and he has taken them.

"But bits and pieces here and there is not really enough."

"My dream is to play for Spurs. But I'd definitely go out on loan. I need to play."

After Bostock's loan spell with the Bees ended last season, Redknapp said of the player: "He's got terrific ability, you just hope he will do it.

"Maybe I need to get him working and training with the first XI, get him in the squad and see what he can do."
