Liverpol striker Iago Aspas will not leave Liverpool in the summer despite struggling to force his way into Brendan Rodgers' first team this term.

The Spaniard moved to Anfield from Celta Vigo last summer, but has only made 13 appearances for the Reds, starting five.

The red-hot form of forward pairing Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge has proved impossible to break, but Aspas' agent has ruled out a move away from Merseyside despite conceding his player 'would obviously like to play more'.

"There is no possibility of Iago returning to Spain or going anywhere else,” Rodriguez Baster toldGianlucaDiMarzio.com.

“Iago has a four-year contract with Liverpool and is very happy to be with the Reds, apart from the fact that he would obviously like to play more.

“But he is happy with Rodgers and he is not thinking about moving. I've never talked to any Italian club, Iago Aspas is fine at Liverpool and happy that the team is having a great season.”

Liverpool travel to Norwich City on Sunday looking to maintain their push for a first Premier League title.
