Arsenal are confident Hector Bellerin will stay at the club despite fervent speculation in Spain that he could return to Barcelona this summer.

Bellerin’s family have returned to his home country and earlier this week he gave an interview in which he revealed how difficult he was finding life in London without them.

However, Standard Sport understands that Bellerin is not actively seeking a move away from the Gunners.

The club feel in a strong position to reject any offer given he signed a six-and-a-half year contract only last November.

The rumours are being driven by Barcelona-leaning publications in the Spanish press.

But Arsenal have not received a formal bid and Arsene Wenger has no interest in selling a player he sees as central to his plans for next season.

Bellerin had told El Mundo Deportivo: "My family settled there with me [in London], although now for family matters they have had to return to Barcelona.

"Now I am having a harder time, because I am a very family orientated person, I depend on them a lot, and it will be a new challenge to be without them."
