Harry Redknapp: Roman Pavlyuchenko still has Spurs future

11 April 2012

Unsettled Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has a future with Tottenham Hotspur if he wants one, manager Harry Redknapp has said.

"His place is here but it's whether he wants to be here or not, that's the key," Redknapp told Sky Sports News. "He is real quality and when he wants to work and play he is a top class footballer.

"I don't know if he wants to be here, I'm not sure I think his people have been trying to move him for quite a while. But we want him to stay. I always said unless we got the right offer he wouldn't be leaving and we don't want to sell him anyway."

Pavlyuchenko, who said in November he wanted a move, is fourth choice at Tottenham behind Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane. He came off the bench to score just his second goal of the season in the 2-2 FA Cup draw against Leeds on Saturday.
