Gold standard! World Cup global tour rolls on

Standard Sport13 March 2014

Former France World Cup winner Christian Karembeu was at Evening Standard HQ this morning parading the famous trophy as it continued its global tour prior to the tournament in June.

The World Cup has already visited 77 countries and when the “unprecendented” FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola is complete, will have travelled nearly 100,000 miles — which is 3.75 times around the world. Tomorrow the trophy will be on view at the Westfield shopping centre in west London from 8am.
