Fulham have moved to thwart a planned protest over their ticket prices from taking place inside Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Fans had planned to demonstrate over high ticket prices by unveiling three banners during the second half of the lunchtime kick-off against Manchester City.

But Fulham have made it clear supporters will not be allowed to bring the banners into the ground on health and safety grounds, and also because they do not want other fans disrupted.

The “Stop the Greed” campaign was launched by the 'Fulhamish' podcast in response to matchday ticket prices in certain areas of Craven Cottage being among the most expensive in the Premier League.

Tickets at the Hammersmith End, the cheapest seats in the ground, range between £45-60. That is the third highest of the cheapest tickets in the Premier League behind Chelsea and Manchester City.

The protest is not aimed at Fulham owner Shahid Khan. Fulham’s season tickets are amongst the most competitive in the Premier League but fans feel the club have mis-judged its matchday ticket pricing policy.

The banners were crowdfunded by fans, with £1,000 raised in just over 24 hours. Despite not being able to take them into Craven Cottage on Saturday, supporters will still distribute flyers outside the ground.
