There are a number of flair players on show for France and England tonight, but it is the battle for supremacy in midfield that should decide who comes out on top.

Tottenham's Eric Dier didn’t enjoy the best of games against Scotland on Saturday and as he laboured, so too did England.

The Spurs midfielder has a point to prove, as does the PFA and FWA Player of the Year N'Golo Kante.

Despite a stunning season with Chelsea, Kante is still not guaranteed a regular place in the France team by any means.

France coach Didier Deschamps said of his options: "Whoever starts needs to play as well as they can.

"Will it change things for August (against Netherlands)?

"I'll think about and analyse it afterward. A team can always be modified.

"The highest level isn't just about attacking well it's about defending as well.

"We will face an England team with a lot of attacking potential."
